PERSONAL NOTE: The short NPR report below talks about what American universities are doing in order to survive…they need the money. The short speech talks about “the entrepreneurial ways colleges are making extra cash — from licensing their logos to offering certificates to selling condiments to renting out empty dorms”…it fails to say, many many colleges and universities in America are now willing to compromise their requirements from thousands of Chinese students coming to study in America…American colleges are not asking for their proficiency in English…they need the Chinese money and the Chinese money is flowing like a spring river…full of cash from China. It does not matter if you did not have the right English proficiency…we need the money, desperately we need the Chinese money to survey…I wonder if Stupid Trump knows this, ahahaha, right now he is trying to prevent some top Chinese students to study in USA schools because he thinks they are here to steal our technological secrets! How stupid can you get…the world of advanced studies and researches are international in scope, sharing of scientific ideas, like going to outer space…it is not Chinese or American, it has become international! steve, usa, november 28, 2018 firstname.lastname@example.org
In the spring semester of this year, 2018, there were 1.7 million fewer college students at the undergraduate and graduate levels than in the spring semester of 2011. That’s a decline of 9 percent — a huge fall. And fewer students means less money for colleges. Many schools are getting creative to find new — and sometimes tacky — ways to make money. The Indicator from Planet Money team takes a look at the entrepreneurial ways colleges are making extra cash — from licensing their logos to offering certificates to selling condiments to renting out empty dorms.
